Decorate a child's chair workshop at the V&A Mseum of childhood, Bethnal Green, London E2Molly-Meg will be running an adult workshop at the V&A museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, London E2 on Saturday 15th May 2010 from 11am-4pm. We will begin by taking a tour of the museum and of course visit the the current "Sit down"exhibition all about seating for kids. Here you will see items from the molly-meg collection. Afterwards you will get creative and each decoupage a vintage child's chair transforming it using a choice of retro prints, maps, music sheets, old story book illustrations, flowers and more. The chair and materials will be provided but please also feel free to bring anything personal to you which you might like to include such as an old photograph, letter, picture. Molly-Meg display at Petit Aime, Notting Hill, London W11Molly-Meg and vintage clothing collector Shona Paterson have teamed up with the beautiful children's boutique Petit Aime to create a Spring tea party style display of specially selected vintage treasures at their store in London's Notting Hill. The exhibition "sit down" opens at the V&A museum of childhood on Saturday 6th February. I worked with the curator to source items for their forthcoming exhibition on seating for children. The exhibition will be in London for 6 months and then travel round the UK for 2+ years. Here is a preview of the items which can be seen at the V&A museum from my collection:
On the opening day Molly-Meg will be running a workshop at the museum where children will be decorating a custom made story telling "throne". This is a drop in session from 11am-1pm suitable for all ages. There will be other fun events on during the day.
